House for Rent!

I can’t believe that we bought a new house and are renting our first one! That seems like something adults do. I still can’t believe that I’m a real adult with a child and real responsibilities and such. Anyway, I just thought I’d share some pictures of our Argyle house that we are looking to rent to someone. (I showed it this morning to a girl and her mother!) Here they are!

Officially for RENT!

I know that it is technically still our house, but it’s kinda sad because it’s not our home anymore. DOn’t get me wrong, I LOVE our new house and it is our HOME but there is something sentamental about our very first house and home as a family. Hopefully it will make a nice home for someone else very soon! So if you know anyone that is looking to move to the Orange Park/Jacksonville area, that first picture is the actual for rent sign in the yard so tell them to call!

Collin CRAWLS!

I finally figured it out!/had a few minutes to actually upload the videos and think for a minute.

Anyway, Collin has been crawling for a few weeks now. He did it for the first time the same day he learned to sit himself up. He’s been sitting by himself for a while, but only if we sit him up. On Saturday, May 8, 2010, I went in to get him from his nap, expecting him to be on his tummy pushing up, but no! My big boy was sitting up in the pack-n-play (we hadn’t moved into the new house yet, but we were here working on stuff). After I loved on him for sitting himself up I put him on the floor to play. He’d been SO CLOSE to crawling for about two weeks we knew he was going to do it any day. AND HE DID! It was such an exciting day. (For more than one reason, a friend of mine had her baby that same afternoon, she had a boy!)

This video is too cute, he’s been crawling for a few weeks now so he’s a pro :) He stops for a second and seems to staring off into the distance. We had lawn people working right outside the window that he saw and got distracted by. Then, Carly comes up at the end and walks right in front of the camera, so my apologies for that :) ENJOY!

My First Mother’s Day

Between funerals, SQL Saturdays, weddings, and family functions, we don’t have a lot a free weekends right now. So we actually moved all the big major stuff and “living necessities” from the Argyle house to the Oakleaf house on Mother’s day. I told people that Devin bought me a house for Mother’s Day :) He also had flowers sent to the house on Friday and got me a card. He knows me so well. I told him that all I wanted was a card from him and Collin. That’s exactly what I got. It was perfect.

When life settles down a little bit, my mom and I are going to go out and spend the day together, just the two of us. I’m really looking forward to it. As much as I absolutely love spending every day at home with Collin and the evenings with Devin, Mama’s gotta have some alone/girl time.  All in all, it was a hot, crazy, and tiresome day. But I spent it with my family, which is the best part.

Yes! We have upgraded our house! In more than one day. Our Arygle house has had many improvements over the past four years (A/C Unit, fence, stove, dishwasher, hardwood floors, light fixtures, roof, front door, bedroom carpet, outside paint…) and I really like what we’ve done with it. Then what’s the problem right? Well, it’s definitely true that you grow into what you have, and with the addition of Collin, we have quickly outgrown what we have. So, we upgraded! Here are some pictures of our NEW HOME! These were all taken the day that I first looked at the house with our agent. Once we get settled in and the mess and chaos is under control, I’ll post “our pictures.”

We have realy doubled the size of our old home. We now have, a two story, 3 bedroom, 2.5 bathroom home with an upstairs loft, indoor laundry room, and formal living and dining rooms :)

We, of course, had a little drama with the closing. Every day the bank was calling with something else I needed to fax into them. It was rather annoying, but I should have expected it. The original closing date was set for April 23, but got pushed back to April 30. April 30 rolled around and the closing time was set for 3:30. So we did the final walk through at 3:00, then went to the bank to get the cashier’s check for closing. Only, we didn’t know the amount yet. After hanging out at the bank for over an hour, it was close to 5:00. Our agent called and said to make the check for $XXXX and we would get a refund check if it was too much, and would have to send in more if it was too little. The banks close at 5:00 so it was pretty much our only option, other than postponing closing again. So we got the check and went to the office to sign the paperwork. Well, the paperwork wasn’t there, nor was the closer. So we called around to find a notary. The notary (our agents son-in-law) got there before the paperwork. The four of us (my mom had Collin, THANK YOU JESUS) sat and talked in the office for hours. We FINALLY closed at 8:30. Literally FIVE HOURS after we were suppose to!

Anyway, since then we have been slowly but surely moving in. We’ve had appliances delivered and other people coming and going doing estimates for this-that-and-the-other. So stay tuned for more house drama and updated pictures!

A Look Into the Future

I haven’t turned the computer on in over a week. As soon as I finish writing this post, it will probably be another week before it gets turned on again. SO MUCH has happened that I want to write about, but I just haven’t had the time. So, here is a look into the future of Erin’s Epiphanies.

    • We bought a new house
    • We moved
    • My first Mother’s Day
    • Collin sits himself up
    • Collin crawls!!!! (I’m the most excited about this one!)
    • Property Owners Association drama (already)

Yes, I know this was a very boring post, but as soon as I can find the cord for the video camera to upload the videos, and more pictures, you’ll have plenty of reading and watching to do :)
